There are several ways to setup an observer:
Official firmware
- Companion node connected to a PC running software
Gessaman's Observer Firmware
- For devices that have Wi-Fi or ethernet. Supports Repeaters and Room Servers only.
OffbandMesh custom firmware
- a companion node with observer capabilities baked in for devices with Wi-Fi and ethernet built-in.
openHop Observer settings
- Repeater but the software runs on a PC/server/docker/Raspberry Pi.

NTXmesh corescope retention policy:
Nodes not seen in 7 days are marked inactive
Observers not sending data for 7 days will be removed
packet data is kept for 14 days
